Wiki thinking
From KMWiki
There's a huge difference between wikis as a tool and wikis as a philosophy.
Wiki thinking is about having a large number of people simultaneously contributing to community's knowledge in an open and unrestricted way.
Wiki tools are about rapidly creating and linking web pages, and can support wiki thinking. It's very important to note that they do not have to be open or unrestricted. This site is a great example where wiki tools are being used (mediawiki), and it is not open for anybody to contribute. Is that so bad? Might it be made more valuable with contributions from others? Certainly. We might one day open it up... but not for the moment.
